Primary Care Treatment Program

Philosophy of Programs

Jolimar Recovery Center located between New Orleans, Louisiana and Jackson, Mississippi, is one of the South’s preeminent healthcare facilities designed to provide traditional residential services for male adults with alcohol and/or other drug problems. The Facility is fully licensed by the State of Mississippi Department of Mental Health and the State of Mississippi Department of Health. Our facility, located in a calming country setting, provides each patient with a tranquil, serene environment perfect for meditation or simply enjoying nature.

The atmosphere at Jolimar Recovery Center is not that of a typical alcohol and drug treatment center. The freestanding facility offers patients a peaceful, natural environment, along with equipped fitness area. This milieu combined with a profess-sionally trained treatment

team and proven therapeutic programs are keys to achieving a well-planned recovery.

Jolimar’s approach to treatment is based on the philosophy that chemical dependency is an incurable, progressive, and if not treated, a fatal disease. We acknowledge the needs of the chemically dependent person by providing education on alcoholism, addiction, and physical health through individual, group, and family counseling. In addition, Jolimar Recovery Center involves the

individual in a 12-Step recovery program specific to their needs. Specialized tracts, programs, and groups are also available to assist in developing a long-term plan for recovery after discharge.

Our treatment team includes a medical director, along with a skilled staff of nurses, clinicians and addiction specialists, experienced in working with a variety of people and problems.

We recognized the family as an important part of ongoing recovery. A Family Program is offered at no extra charge to help the patient and their family members increase their knowledge of chemical dependency. The educational format provides information on alcoholism, addiction, co-dependency, family dynamics, communication, recovery and relapse prevention. We also encourage members to become actively involved in Al-Anon, Nar-Anon, CODA and/or ACOA.
